ABSTRACT
We have given some time to the discussion of speech development in infancy, and have traced some of the causes of speech difficulties to their origin in childhood. We now wish to consider the speech characteristics of early childhood, as the child passes beyond the early speech-experimental stage, and to ascertain if possible, some of the consequences of unfavourable speech-development upon adult life and personality.
