ABSTRACT

We have considered in the last chapter the integrative mechanisms which are responsible for the emotional responses of dominance and compliance, and we have analysed a few simple illustrations of actual human behaviour exemplifying the occurrence of these emotions in as isolated a form as possible. We have still to consider the normal inter-relationship between dominance and compliance when the two emotional responses occur successively. We have also to consider, thereafter, the normal integrative combinations of dominance and compliance when these two emotional responses occur simultaneously.
