Conflict management book
An analysis of the 'phenomenon conflict' must include not only the identification of the actors, the conflicts' location in time and space, relevant structural components, national and international settings, but also the efforts to end conflicts. The term 'conflict management' is one way to describe these efforts. Management stands for the attempts to control and regulate a certain social, political or military development. It is commonly understood that the intention of an external conflict manager is not to aggravate the situation for the affected groups, i.e. intensify the use of force, but to redirect, to re-orientate and to transform the conflict into a setting that allows for peaceful and consensual resolution of the conflict by all participating parties.
