ABSTRACT
MORE remarkable than the progress made in science in this period is the wonderful development which poetry and the drama received in this thë Augustan Era of Sanscrit Literature. Kâlidâsa and Bhavabhûti stand higher in the estimation of the Hindus and of the world than Âryabhatta and Charaka.
