ABSTRACT
Child assault is a terrible crime which would seem at first sight to be rather an atavistic throw-back to a period of uncivilised savagery than an ordinary evil common to uncontrolled human nature. But what can we say when we find it, apparently, increasing as civilisation advances, and becoming if anything more prevalent in England in recent years than formerly?
