ABSTRACT
The image of good ‘history’ teaching… is one that is grounded in subject matter. It is a disciplinary conception of history teaching that pre-supposes that one major goal for teaching history is the communication of historical knowledge – the central facts, concepts and ideas of the discipline – and the nature of the methods employed by interpretation and narrative.
