ABSTRACT

In this study, we have in many ways used Debenham Mill as a yardstick by which to measure the changes which occurred at Radbourne. This resembles the use of a control against which changes can be evaluated, although in this case we were not able to equate the variables between the two mills – naturally enough! Therefore, the analogy of the yardstick is probably a more accurate one than the analogy of an experimental situation with a ‘control’.
