ABSTRACT
IN the following section the organization of the firm will be described as it was towards the end of 1948, when the background study was carried out by the Research Team. Minor changes which have taken place since then will be indicated. The larger changes which have occurred as a part of the work undertaken during the course of the project will be treated in subsequent sections, and the following description of organization will serve as a baseline against which to assess the extent and character of these changes.
