ABSTRACT

Under the conditions of work with the Company, the full details of the work done are not generally available. Only in some instances have conditions allowed for the publication of the details of specific jobs. This situation is gradually changing as analysis of more and more jobs is worked through as between manager and subordinates. Even so, however, it still remains for the Company to discover for itself whether or not the instruments described have practical value and are usable in a ready way by themselves. The current situation is that just such an exploration has been commenced within the firm’s executive system, and some results have already been obtained. This exploration was initiated by a report from the social-analyst to the Works Council in March 1955. The report summarized and pulled together for the first time the main points that had emerged from the analysis.
