ABSTRACT

In the preceding chapters, the evolution of business and business organization in Europe and in the United States, and the most important problems attendant on the contemporary process of transition, have been discussed largely from a general point of view. It has, however, been repeatedly argued in these discussions that there is need for a closer co-operation between business and its environment, including the institutions of learning, so that thought may develop on a practical substrate. Therefore, an input from business has been considered as an absolute requirement for the development of this thesis.
