ABSTRACT

The change in environment in Europe has brought in its wake a serious challenge to business. In Chapter 12, it has been discussed how firms have been obliged to increase the manæuvrability of their various resources. The requirement for optimum utilization of business resources holds for large as well as for small firms, and explains why both continue to grow in a growing economy. However, this growth must be a rational growth; that is, a growth process in which the resources are at all times utilized as fully as possible in a way which best suits their character.
