ABSTRACT
The preceding transition areas have shown that business in Europe is experiencing changes in many respects. These changes are the result of an increasing interpenetration of firm and environment, in which the environment influences the firm and the firm influences the environment. This is a dynamic process, and if two snapshots were taken at different points in time, it would be seen that the nature and the quantity of the business elements were changing, and that their interrelationships were also changing. 81
