ABSTRACT

At the end of October 1953, seven months after the original reorganization and five months after the end of the experimental period, the efficiency of the automatic shed started to fall and the rate of damage to rise. By the middle of November levels were near those of the shed before the experiment. During November and December an investigation was made into the cause of the setback and, as a result, action was taken in the following months to restore the situation—this time permanently.
