ThisessayhassurveyedthetheoryofcommitteevotingpioneeredbyDuncan BlackandadvancedbyRobinFarquharson.Itisfairtosaythat,withinthe frameworkestablishedbyBlackandFarquharson,thetheoryofcommittee votingisnowlargelycompleteandmostofitsresultshavebeencoveredhere.
