ABSTRACT

Classic Marxism does not confine itself to the analysis of what is commonly known as economics. Rather Marx conceives of his work offering a toolkit for the analysis of all aspects of capitalist society. He certainly thought that his analysis moved from the factory floor to the bedroom. The mean and partial ownership of the means of production and distribution of wealth alienates the worker from the object of their labour. Similarly capitalism casts a pall over social and familial relations and alienates people from each other in social and sexual relationships.
