The primary relationship between communication and technology has long been present in the work of technological determinists like Neil Postman. Postman has long argued that technology shapes cultural (as well as psychological and intellectual) experience. In his extreme statements this is even more apparent. Early on in his book Technopoly he argues that ‘Tools are not integrated into the culture, they attach the culture. They bid to become the culture’.
