ABSTRACT
Banking and other financial activities employ over 74,000 people in the City. Data supplied by the Corporation of London show that in 1964–66 there were 50,005 persons employed in various forms of banking, 15,071 in stockbroking, jobbing and in the Stock Exchange itself, and 9,208 in ‘other finance’.
