ABSTRACT
A study of the competitive process is equally essential to an understanding of the activities of dominant firms as it is in the case of trade associations. In each case the sources of competition tend to be identical. Nevertheless, they are sufficiently different in their application as to warrant individual analysis. The Monopolies Commission always devotes a considerable proportion of its dominant firm reports to a detailed study of the competitive process in the relevant reference field.
