Introduction

The essays collected together in this volume are grouped under seven headings with, however, overlapping themes. It will be seen that I have become increasingly dissatisfied with orthodox neoclassical analysis and more and more committed to what is sometimes called modern classicism: an amalgam of the theories and approach of the classical political economists and Marx with those of Keynes, Kalecki, Sraffa and Joan Robinson.
