ABSTRACT

On the other hand, the royal families and nobles of Koma and Kudara, which had collapsed, sought refuge in our country, and were soon naturalized. So numerous were they that naturalized refugees from Kudara alone figured at more than 2,400 in 762, of whom 2,000 were given a residence in eastern districts with livelihood ensured for three years, and the rest were allowed rice-fields in Kanzaki-gun of Omi. The immigration of those Koreans naturally brought to our country, not only their blood, but their arts as well.
