ABSTRACT
The best justification for the study of Egyptian religion lies in the fact that it was the basis from which Egyptian civilization derived. The cardinal features of that culture and society were determined by the existence and power of its all-pervading religious beliefs. We shall therefore begin by pointing to some well-known facts which illustrate the religious origin of various cultural phenomena.
