ABSTRACT
The Age-Limit IN the preceding chapter I quoted the Indian rule that the son of a man of sacrificial rank must be initiated by a certain age or drop into the rank of those not admitted to the sacrifice. We cannot, however, be content with isolated cases, but must compare in the hope that from the comparison the purpose of the rule may emerge.
