ABSTRACT
I shall start by giving my reasons for believing that in the Pacific Ocean we find a culture which is closely connected with the archaic culture of India. In order to meet the objection that might be made to a composite picture made up of elements from all over the Pacific, I shall limit my comparison to Fiji, and notice other parts only when they have points in common with Fiji.
