Sir William Beveridge's Full Employment in a Free Society and the White Paper on Employment Policy (Command 6527)

After the publication of the White Paper in May 1944 and of Beveridge's book in November (London: George Allen & Unwin, 1944), Meade wrote this commentary, dated 1 December 1944, which was circulated to ministers by Lord Woolton, Minister of Reconstruction 1943–45, early in 1945 (Public Record Office T230/16 and 69, Meade Papers 3/2 and Meade Diary, 14 January 1945).
