ABSTRACT

In 1762 Peter III of Russia withdrew from the coalition which had opposed Frederick the Great during the Seven Years War. Russian troops left East Prussia and Pomerania. 2 Sweden came to terms with Prussia on the basis of no territorial changes and no indemnities. In 1763 the peace of Hubertusburg between Prussia on the one hand and Austria and Saxony on the other also provided for the re-establishment of the status quo and for no reparations. Frederick had to evacuate Saxony and secured neither territorial nor financial compensation for Prussia’s losses during the war.
