ABSTRACT

The conclusion which emerged from the last chapter was that Jesuits gave evidence of no originality except in the domain of the education of the will. This was because, on this point, they were pursuing a goal which was special to them and which could not have been that of the University teachers. Before all else they wished to make their pupils faithful servants of the Church, devoted subjects of the Holy See.
