ABSTRACT

I end this volume with “The Radical Future of Gender Enrichment” because in writing it I quite consciously tried to join the ideas about curriculum that I had been developing since 1969 and my work on the education of girls and women. The immediate occasion for the paper was an invitation from Jane Gaskell and John Willinsky to contribute to a collection of essays initially called “Gender Enriches Curriculum.” A play on Zillah Eisenstein s The Radical Future of Liberal Feminism, my title was meant to reflect my belief that the verb “enrich” did not adequately capture gender s transformative potential.
