ABSTRACT
In the conversation that follows, Spivak and Plotke place current debates about radical democracy in a global context by discussing new institutional forms that are developing across national boundaries. Such organizations are becoming increasingly important in addressing such worldwide issues as population, economic development, and the environment.Yet in their varying origins and purposes, these new multinational institutions often reproduce many of the same political problems as the states from which they emerge. This conversation was recorded in New York City in October 1994 and subsequently revised for publication.
