ABSTRACT

A bank is planning to install an information technology project for its salesforce. This project is called the Third Party Database Project because it was devised by accountants. If a project provokes tensions, then these tensions must express themselves. It is not by making the project more vague that it will become more accessible. Companies throw themselves wholeheartedly into certification projects; that strangely resemble administrative programmes; that is to say, write what is to be done, and do it. A lateral project must appear as a break in advance of better times to come. When devising a lateral project there is always the risk - in the search for consensus - of ending up with a manipulated formula, devoid of sense, which gets rid of all the difficulties and kills with kindness. The lateral projects one might end up with - if one is not careful - resemble in a strange way knives without blades, or handles either.
