ABSTRACT
Global citizenship implies some sense of belonging to a larger political community than that of our own state alone. Global citizens believe they have duties beyond borders. Their concept of rights also extends internationally. It is concerned, in principle and in practice, with the protection of human dignity in several forms; such as human rights and the struggle to escape from poverty, lack of education and poor health that blight the lives of the global majority.
