ABSTRACT
The Green Table was the first complex choreographic work to be fully documented in a comprehensive system of dance notation. This system, originated by Rudolf von Laban, was first published in Germany in 1928. Entitled Schrifttanz it was also called Kinetography Laban. and in the 1940s the name Labanotation was registered in New York City by the Dance Notation Bureau.
