ABSTRACT

In addition, 106 Btu of oil are required per ton of methanol (286). If there are 6.3 X 106 Btu per barrel of oil, and 13,200 barrels of oil are required to produce 1 MW-yr of electricity (208), then the oil required would produce 1200 X 365 X 106/6.3 X 106 X 13,200= 5.3 MW-yr. The risk associated with this oil is the occupational risk of gathering and handling it. From column 1 Table B-2, this is 5.3 (1 .6-16) = 8.5-85 man-days lost.
