ABSTRACT

The aim of life for a Hindu is mokṣa, release from the cycle of birth and rebirth. Central to this notion is the development of vairāgya, dispassion and the eventual realization of the illusory nature of the social world of phenomena known as saṃsāra. https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315026558/c8179cba-ecbd-439f-b95f-f00e0dec902b/content/fm_1_B.tif" xmlns:xlink="https://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"/>
