ABSTRACT
A whole tribe coming down thus, and throwing down its arms, making an unconditional surrender, is a thing unprecedented amongst the Afghans, and a proud race like the Wazirs having done so, is still to be wondered at. What a blow it must have been to their pride, and how they have been humbled in the eyes of their countrymen, I believe that no-one but one themselves can adequately appreciate.
