ABSTRACT
In 1911 Kirsten had taken little Thea back to Denmark to visit her parents and her two sisters, Agga and Aagot. But she hadn't seen her younger brother Luis (also called Ib) since he had gone to Australia in 1908. Now, in 1916, she anxiously awaited news of her brother, fighting in the war in Europe.
