ABSTRACT
Vilhelm was born on 14 June 1878 in Copenhagen. He was the eighth child of Louis and Thea Meyer, commemorated by the middle name Octavius. He had five elder brothers, Albert, Viggo, Ernst, Holger and Otto and two elder sisters, Anna (who was Ernst's twin sister) and Emma. After Vilhelm there was another brother, Emil, who died at the age of 2. Then came the twins, Jutta and Olga, and finally the youngest member of the family, Emilie, who would henceforth always be called Mille. Thus Vilhelm grew up among five brothers and five sisters.
