ABSTRACT
As a salesman for the firm of Moses & Son, G. Melchior, Vilhelm had travelled regularly in Denmark. His anchor point, however, was the house in Nyhavn from which he could watch Danish ships loaded with Danish goods set sail for foreign ports. Later they would return to Copenhagen harbour, bearing fascinating cargoes from exotic lands.
