ABSTRACT

A certain Man once had a large household, so far as Wives and Slaves were concerned, but he had no Son. So he was always going to different Malams, and saying " Give me a charm that I may beget a Son, for I have none." But all to no purpose, until at last he went to a certain Malam who said to him " You must go and live in the forest, and you must plait hobbles for Horses, and sell them until you can buy a Slave-Wife, then when you have built a house you will have a Son."
