ABSTRACT

In a few days I felt considerably relieved by Mr. Oldfield’s treatment ; and on the 10th we departed from Bocqua, and in three hours arrived at Attah. The Alburkah followed, with Mr. Lander. In coming down, we took the inner channel, passing close under the perpendicular face of the hill on which Attah stands, and came to anchor a little below the landing-place. The river must have risen since we passed on our voyage up more than thirty feet, as we had four fathoms where it was impassable for boats in December.
