ABSTRACT
We set sail from St. Thomas on Saturday at about 6 a.m. and sailed through the Virgin Islands by the channel called “La Rue des Virges”, and surely this is one of the most pleasant voyages one can make. We observed that though some of the islands were inhabited and cultivated most of them were deserted. The largest island at the head used to be called “La Grosse Vierge”, but the English now call it “Paneston”.
