ABSTRACT

TWO days before they were due to sail, Leibei Bornstein received an order to go to Port Said. On the way, at one of the stations, he met Aaron, who had come from Cairo, together with Lishansky. In Port Said they stayed in different hotels. Their permits to enter the harbour were brought them by the young Christian Arab, Charley Boutagy. He was making the trip too. It was intended that he should swim ashore with Leibel and help him in case of difficulty.
