ABSTRACT

A total of 77 Red Army general officers fell captive to the enemy during the Great Patriotic War (does not include General Salikhov). Among these were six lieutenant-generals and 71 major-generals from the following forces branches:

61 – combined-arms commanders;

6 – artillery;

3 – tank forces;

2 – aviation;

2 – technical forces;

2 – quartermaster service; and

1 – engineer force.
