ABSTRACT

The building owner’s surveyor then disappeared from view and the third surveyor, a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club, was appointed and wrote lengthy letters which instead of reducing the matters in contention attempted to introduce further matters. However, the building owner’s surveyor, whose agreement had been reluctant, effectively sabotaged our agreement. His pursuit of the appeal ran up the most enormous fees which were ultimately paid by the building owner’s insurers. The building owner wanted to underpin a party wall, shared with author appointing owners. The epilogue is that structural movement continued to take place in the adjoining owner’s property and their insurers accepted the claim.
