ABSTRACT
Our book has been written to support you in the exciting and challenging process of becoming a teacher. You have chosen to enter the profession at a time of increasing change in schools and in the curriculum. Teacher training courses are also part of this change. You and your fellow students will be following courses which are significantly different from those followed by students before 1993. You will notice that your tutors at your Higher Education Institution (HEI) and in the schools in which you teach are very aware of this change and that they will still be adjusting to the change. You will have less adjustment to make. So much of what you do will be new that you will not be unduly concerned about ‘how we used to do it in the old days’.
