ABSTRACT
Introduction In this chapter we describe the development of the teaching of 'skills' on undergraduate programmes in the Business School at the University of North London. We start by discussing the development of skills on BA (Hons) Business Studies (BABS) as this provided the model for skills development in the Business School. This is followed by an account of the 'Business Skills' module on BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance (BAAF). The final sections describe the support given to students through the 'Study Skills and Learning Materials' handbook and the support given to staff through the 'Skills Teaching Handbook'.
