ABSTRACT

The transformation of the student population has inevitably introduced changes in course delivery and an exploration of new methods of learning and teaching. Out of this has evolved an overall philosophy of broadening and enhancing students' experience during their university courses. With the Enterprise in Higher Education (EHE) initiative this development was further related to the world outside the university. It directed attention to skills and competences acquired in the academic context which could be transferred into non-academic environments. The extended opportunities available through wider access to higher education are thus carried through to greater equality of employment opportunities for university graduates.
