ABSTRACT

Contract is a device used to facilitate the learning process, many learners tend to gloss over the column that asks them to identify 'Resources and strategies'. If the proposed objectives are to be met, and the learning process made easier and more rewarding, a viable 'action plan' must first be developed and a diverse list of useful resources drawn up. Even in traditional academic courses, much learning occurs in ways which have little to do with published works. Students use a diversity of resources and strategies at different times, they are books and journals, professional associations, and resource centres, trade unions. An important part of the adviser's role is that of advising learners of ethical considerations in connection with their proposed learning activities. The main role of the staff adviser is to establish an environment which will support and promote learning. Developing a learning strategy involves identifying sources of information and determining suitable methods for accessing them.
