ABSTRACT

The third group of lifelong learning insights examines the issues around assessment, evaluation and accreditation. A new assessment vision would predicate a national system of education which recognizes late development, interpersonal competencies and different approaches to learning, and which values equally practical/vocational and academic achievement. Such protectionist attitudes are so common in education that an educationist would possibly not recognise the irony or the problem. Industry—Education links have existed, more in the Anglo-Saxon part of the developed world than in other parts. Assessment of Prior Experiential Learning might be simply described as giving credit for learning gained from work and life experiences. The average age of students wanting to take post-secondary courses in colleges and universities has been steadily increasing in all parts of the world. Companies provide educational resources on the Internet, help with curriculum development, and make extra resources available to educational organizations.
