The previous chapter dealt with students' reluctance to speak. Ofcourse, when the students don't speak, the teacher usually speaks to relieve the silence; the upshot is that the teacher does all the talking. The situations we are going to consider now are also characterized by excessive domination on the part of the teacher, but the causes are very different: here the teacher monopolizes the show because, for various reasons, that is the way he or she wants it.
