Chapter 4 included teaching and learning situations in which too little student involvement and interaction inhibit effective learning. Chapter 5 dealt with situations in which interaction is ineffective because it is dominated by the teacher. Here I address those teaching and learning situations characterized by grossly unequal speaking time among participants. There is interaction, but not everyone takes part in it. Some students are asking and answering all the questions.
